The Kamas Valley American Legion Auxiliary and the Kamas Valley History Group are pleased to join together to plan and build a Veterans Memorial. This memorial will commemorate all veterans past and present on a brick pathway that leads to the flag and a rock memorial dedicated to each branch of the military.    If you would like to commemorate or memorialize your veteran on the pathway, please consider purchasing a brick to help fund and complete this memorial.  Our goal is to be able to ground-break before 11 Nov 2024.  Download and fill in the application page and return form to the Kamas City building at the desk or in the outdoor payment slot.  Please include your check. Opportunity to purchase online with a credit card will be available after September 1, 2024.

Kamas Valley American Legion Auxiliary and Kamas History Group are  sponsoring a fundraiser to aid in creating a community-wide Veterans Memorial.  Here is an artist rendering of the potential memorial.  

The plan is to include all veterans names on bricks aside a concrete walkway leading up to the memorial rocks at the base.  The six rocks at the base will have bronze plaques affixed to them for each branch of the military.

Poppies in Remembrance of Veterans

It is our auxiliaries vision to bring back the icon of the red poppy from Flanders Field in a big way, so our theme is POPPIES, POPPIES, POPPIES!  Our table at the community activities will feature our Girls State winners with crepe paper poppies like our grandparents took door to door to fund needy veterans.   

We will be selling everything POPPY.  I.e., posters, pins, badges and greeting cards to garner excitement and enthusiasm for this memorial.  You can skip to the QR code from this website to reach our tax-deductible 501c-3 Venmo site set up for donations.
